Advantages of Office 365

We all get stuck in a rut sometimes – better the devil you know and all that but sometimes it does pay to switch.

We’re finding many clients are coming to us requesting Office 365.  Why?  Moving to a cloud-based platform like Office 365 has some great advantages.  Here are some of the reasons.

Office 365 will allow you work anywhere and access your work, whether it’s a remote office, the train, a café, back of beyond – providing you have an internet connection.  Not only can you access email, you can access all your files and Office programs, ie Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.  It’s a great solution for any business that has employees in multiple offices, who travel frequently or have employees who work from home. 

A major advantage of Office 365 is the ability to work from one document shared with a number of people – providing up to date, real time changes.  This does away with having multiple versions of the same document and not knowing which one should be the master!  Sharing of files and documents is much easier too with Office 365, negating the need for sending documents as attachments.

You’ll always have access to the latest version of the programs contained within Office 365. No more updating or reinstalling which takes time and can be frustrating.

Don’t be fooled into thinking that just because it’s a cloud-based platform it’ll be unsafe.  There are a range of security features within Office 365 making it no more or less safe than an on-premise service.

With everything, there are always pros and cons.  One thing to take into consideration is if the internet is down, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to access your work.  If your business runs off a slow internet connection, Office 365 may not be the right solution!
